| The car is a 2003 Evolution V///, going from bone stock to pretty radical build trying to max out one of the largest stock frame turbos. Bone stock the car went 13.7@99mph at Bitburg, with a 1.82 sixty on just 11psi wastegate pressure. I bought the car inheriting some issues that I didn't realize went as deep as I have found out during this build process. Since tearing it down to the block, I've discovered that the engine has been apart before. I don't know for what though, but it seems there may have been some sort of head gasket issues at one point as the head studs tq was off on some of them. I experienced bearing failure at the Nurburgring which prompted the build to happen sooner than I originally wanted. Mods: Parts at the house: jap speed tubular exhaust manifold Custom made Intake Manifold custom 3" downpipe to muffler that exits out the front bumper, also has a 3" dump that dumps under car 1000cc injectors Lower Intercooler pipe 4g64 crank MAP Stroker (custom) -Wiseco 10:1 compression .040 overbore HD pistons -Manley 150mm H beam rods -ACL main and rod bearings plus thrust 6 Puck Clutch Full Blown Douple Pumper (2 walbro 255s) STM EGR Block off STM Oil Cooler Delete STM shorter ACC belt for A/C delete STM balance shaft delete ARP head studs Parts waiting to show up: MAP EF4 (61mm inducer) 1450cc injectors It's been a real learning experience on the Evo so far, I've done DSMs and Cobalts and other domestics before, but the EVO is even more different from all others than I expected. I'll be assembling the motor later this week and will be putting it back in the car next weekend probably. Motor will look way different when it's done. My MAPerformance EF4 turbo came in yesterday! Compared to stock turbo Test fitting manifold and exhaust to turbo

| Motor is in the car! Just need to finish connecting the wiring harness, and do some minor things like attaching axles, driveshaft, piping, intake. I also need to drill and weld an O2 bung in the exhaust as it doesn't have one and also weld the Tial flange to the intercooler piping. Should have a video of start up tomorrow! | |

| Nice work my friend . I wish it was that easy for me to get my motor in . My motor will not go in from the bottom , and no way coulod I ever have everything installed while putting it in (exh mani, alt, etc) . Glad to see you getting closer , cant wait to get a pull in it . Are you running a muffler out the bumper (resonator) . Do you have some kind of cut off valve (electric or maunual) ? I run mine with 3" piping and no resonator . My electric qtp cut off only lasted a few months and I made the switch to manual so I can open and close for long drives . How is yours setup ? Keep it up ........ | |
